What is Cardamom Essential Oil?

Cardamom essential oil is steam distilled from cardamom seeds and it is from Guatemala. It is pale yellow in colour and has a rich, spicy and sweet scent. 

As with all our essential oils, our cardamom essential oil is 100% natural and contains no synthetic fragrance.

Origin & History

Cardamom essential oil is native to India and was often used medicinally to freshen breath, clear infection, and as a digestive aid. 


Cardamom oil was also used in food and some places used cardamom in perfumes and aromatic oils. Ancient Greeks and Romans used it in perfumes, incense, and as a mouthwash. They would chew the cardamom pods as a way to clean their teeth and keep their breath minty.

Blending Suggestions

How to Store Your Oils:

Keep your cardamom oil sealed and out of direct sunlight. This will stop it from degrading over time and help prolong the quality.
