Solid Shampoo Melt and Pour Base SLS Free
Make your own solid shampoo bars with this ready-made base. This shampoo is a vegetable based melt and pour base.
This shampoo base creates opaque solid shampoo bars. The finished product has an excellent lather with a good moisturising effect.
Our shampoo base is very gentle on the skin and has a neutral odour. The neutral odour provides excellent fragrance lift and allows you to use any type of fragrance.
You can customise the shampoo with your favourite colours and fragrances using colourants and fragrance oil/ essential oils.
This solid shampoo base is made using soothing aloe vera and contains conditioning additives. It also has a very high glycerine content which provides extra moisturising effects for the hair and scalp.
Stephenson 'crystal' solid shampoo base is free from the surfactant sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), a common surfactant found in other shampoo bases.

How to use the Stephenson melt and pour shampoo base

Simply cut the solid shampoo into small pieces.

Place the shampoo pieces into a large bowl and gently heat until fully melted (you can do this with a Bain Marie or in a microwave in short bursts).

Once fully melted, add any essential oils or colourants and mix well (we recommend adding up to 2% additives to the base).

Pour your shampoo into silicone moulds and leave to set.

Once fully set, take the shampoo bars out of the mould and they are ready to use!
