What is french red clay?
French red clay is a red, brown clay with a velvety texture and was first found in the north of France. The clay is derived from the Hematite rock and gets its red colour from the copper oxides in the rock.
It is composed of the minerals Calcite, Illite, Kaolinite and Montmorillonite.
