Our castile (or castille) soap base is made from organic oils and is a natural translucent pale yellow colour. You can thicken it easily by adding salt if you're looking for a slightly thicker soap base.

Is Organic Castile Liquid Soap Natural?
Yes, our organic liquid castile soap is an natural alternative to traditional soap. It is very gentle on the skin as the ingredients are derived from natural sources and it does not include unnecessary irritants.

How to Use Organic Castile Liquid Soap Base
Castile liquid soap base is very easy to use to make a hand soap. Simply pour the soap base into a mixing bowl or jug. Measure the essential oil, making sure to keep it at a maximum level of 0.5%. Mix the ingredients until fully combined. If you prefer to keep the soap unscented, you can leave out the fragrance.
If you wish to make the soap base slightly thicker, you can add a few drops of salt solution and continue to mix to check the thickness. Once the mixture is fully combined, pour the finished soap base into the bottle.
When using the liquid soap with warm water, it creates a light bubbling effect. You may find there are not as many bubbles as conventional soap because it does not contain irritants that enhance this effect.

Storage
To store your castile soap, make sure to keep it sealed in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.
Organic castile soap will normally last around 12 months when stored correctly.
