What is rapeseed and coconut wax?

Rapeseed coconut wax also known as Naturewax 660-55M, is made up of renewable and sustainable crop of coconut oil and rapeseed oil. It is mainly used as a more natural, renewable alternative to paraffin wax and has a melting point of 50°C. Our rapeseed coconut wax blend comes in the form of small white pellets, they have a neutral scent.

What is rapeseed and coconut wax used for?

Rapeseed and coconut wax is a specially formulated blend, used as an alternative to paraffin wax, to make small container candles, tea lights and wax melts.

Rapeseed and coconut wax provides great scent throw for fragrances and a long burning time in candles. This also makes it a great wax for wax melts as it lasts longer then regular paraffin wax melts.

When used in candle making, the wax should be heated to around 70°C (no higher than 90°C) to add fragrance and colours. It is recommended to pour the melted wax into the candle moulds at around 50°C, but this can also vary depending on the size of the mould. Then the wax can be left to cool and cure for at least 12 hours before burning. 

The wax blends long burning time, allows the fragrance oils to last longer and deliver excellent fragrance throw.
