How to Make Rosehip Face Oil

How to make rosehip face oil for oily skin

Rosehip oil is one of the best oils around for face treatments. It has a comedogenic rating of 1, which means it is very unlikely to clog pores. This makes a rosehip face oil treatment suitable for almost everyone, including people with oily skin and easily clogged pores. In fact, we've created this face oil specifically for people with oily skin.

In this rosehip face oil recipe, we combine rosehip oil with jojoba oil and pomegranate oil. Jojoba oil is widely reported to mimic the skin's natural sebum, and to help control the skin's oil production. Pomegranate oil is under-appreciated in face treatments, it is one of the only sources of punicic fatty acid (an omega-5 fatty acid).

  • Measure your oils into a jug
  • Mix thoroughly for a few minutes until well combined
  • Pour into a bottle

How to use Rosehip Face Oil

We recommend you use this face oil just after a shower, while your skin is still warm. Here is how to apply it:

  • Take two drops of oil in the palm of your hands
  • Rub your hands together to spread the oil thinly
  • Massage the oil into your face

Don't be tempted to over-apply, two drops is enough for most people. Start with testing it on a small patch of your skin first, and then build up to using it twice a week if your skin reacts well to it.

I would recommend using this face oil instead of a moisturiser, try it a couple of times a week to see if it suits your skin.

OK, sounds good. What does one apply after this, or does this replace the moisturizer?
