What is Jojoba Oil?

Golden jojoba oil is unrefined and is cold pressed from the seed of the jojoba plant - a woody bush found mainly in South and Central America. Our jojoba oil has been deodorised and is golden in colour.

Technically a liquid wax, natural jojoba oil is very different from other carrier oils in its composition and contains a high proportion of vitamin E.

The chemical structure of jojoba oil closely resembles the structure of the skin's natural sebum, meaning it will help balance sebum production on the skin and it is easily absorbed.

We also stock organic jojoba oil. Our organic jojoba oil has been produced with no synthetic pesticides and it is certified organic by the Soil Association. We are inspected annually to make sure we meet their strict quality standards.

Jojoba Oil Benefits and Uses for Skin

Jojoba oil is extremely moisturising and can be used in a range of skin care applications like moisturisers, facial oils, lip balms and hair treatments. It great at regulating sebum production in skin and reducing excess oil.

Because of its high content of vitamin e, jojoba oil works as an antioxidant and also helps regenerate skin cells.

It is great for oily skin, dry skin, mature skin, acne prone skin and sensitive skin types and has a comedogenic rating of 2, meaning is is unlikely to clog pores.

Make your own skin treatment with jojoba oil

Ingredients

• Organic shea butter 100g
• Avocado oil 50ml
• Jojoba Oil 50ml

Method

1. Gently heat the shea butter until fully melted in a microwave, or in a bowl over boiling water.
2. Combine the avocado oil and jojoba oil into the melted shea butter.
3. Place the mixture into the fridge to cool.
4. Once the mixture is cool and starting to set, whisk for around 5 to 10 minutes. This should reach a whipped and creamy consistency.
5. Now your skin treatment is ready to apply! 

How to Use Jojoba Oil For Hair

Jojoba oil helps to reduce oil production on the scalp and hair. It is a great natural oil for overly oily or greasy hair types. It is often used in hair oils, conditioners and shampoos.

• Castor oil 100ml
• Jojoba oil 100ml
• Hemp oil - cold pressed 10ml
• Neem oil - cold pressed 10ml

Method

1. Weigh your castor oil, jojoba oil, hemp and neem oil in a bowl.
2. Mix the oils together until fully combined.
3. Now pour the mixture into a bottle and apply to your hair!
