








What is Hazelnut Oil?
Hazelnut oil is extracted from pressed hazelnuts and is a light non-greasy oil that absorbs well into skin and hair. Hazelnut oil is golden yellow in colour with a neutral scent.
It is rich in oleic acid and has a similar fatty acids profile to extra virgin olive oil. However, hazelnut oil has a higher vitamin E content which is great for moisturising the skin.
What is Hazelnut Oil Used For?
Hazelnut oil has amazing moisturising properties and can be used on all skin types and hair types. It has a comedogenic rating of 1, meaning is is unlikely to clog pores.
It can be used in skincare products like body oils, soap making, moisturisers, serums and skin treatments.
Make your own skin treatment with hazelnut oil
Ingredients
- Organic shea butter 100g
- Avocado oil 50ml
- Hazelnut oil 50ml
Method
- In a microwave or in a bowl over boiling water, melt the shea butter.
- Weigh the avocado oil and hazelnut oil and add them to the shea butter
- Mix everything together and place the mixture into the fridge to cool.
- Once the mixture is cool and starting to set, whisk for around 5 to 10 minutes. This should reach a whipped and creamy consistency.
- Now your skin treatment is ready to apply!
