How To Make Valentine’s Soap Hearts

In the dark depths of winter we all need a little extra love and care, and to be honest on these cold nights any excuse for more warm cuddles and something to celebrate is very welcome!

So let’s get our craft on and get in the mood for romance! What could be more romantic than running someone special a candlelit bath with the personal touch of a handmade, heart shaped soap to go with it.

Or if you aren’t in the mood for romance but want to share some love with friends for ‘galentines’ or send a little love to family, these make perfect gifts.

Valentine's Soap Recipe

To create your own valentines soap bars, you can use heart shaped moulds or you can simply use a rectangle mould! Explore our range of silicone soap moulds here!

Method:

Cubes of Melt and Pour Base

1. Cut the melt and pour soap base

  • Take the block of melt and pour soap base out of the tub and cut it up into small 1cm cubes.
  • Place your cubes into two heatproof bowls.

2. Melt the soap base

  • Melt the soap base in a bowl over boiling water, a double boiler or in a microwave in short bursts.
  • Gently stir the soap mixture as you heat it.
  • When the cubes start to melt together, separate them with a spoon or knife
Added Pink Mica Powder and Essential Oil

3. Add the essential oils and colour

  • Weigh the rose absolute oil and fantasia pink mica powder in a separate bowl.
  • Add them to one of the melted soap bases and mix together until everything has fully combined.
  • You should have one bowl with a pink coloured soap base and one bowl with white soap base.

4. Pour the soap into your mould

  • Pour the pink soap mixture into your soap mould to fill about halfway.
  • Then pour the white mixture on top of that until you have filled the mould completely.
  • If there are air bubbles on the surface, you can spray it with isopropyl alcohol to remove the bubbles.
  • Sprinkle a few rose petals on top and leave the soap to set for about 6 hours, until it is fully set.
  • Now your soap bar is ready to use!
