Our organic lemon essential oil is steam distilled from the peel of fresh organic lemons, originating from Spain. The lemons are grown without the use of synthetic pesticides and the oil is certified organic by the Soil Association.

Origin & History

Lemon trees were native to Asia and were used by ancient Indians, Egyptians and Romans to treat infectious diseases. 

Lemon trees were brought to Europe in the middle ages and lemons were used in traditional medicine.

Throughout its history, it has been the lemon fruit or juice that has been the most popular. However lemon essential oil has rapidly increased in popularity for its zesty and invigorating scent.

Blending Suggestions

Organic lemon essential oil has a refreshing citrusy scent that blends well with oils like eucalyptus, rosemary and peppermint.

Lemon oil is a top note, along with most other citrus essential oils.

Refreshing lemon eucalyptus blend:

4 drops Organic Eucalyptus oil

4 drops Organic Lemon oil

2 drops Organic Peppermint oil

Zesty and relaxing blend:

10 drops Organic Lemon oil

10 drops Organic Bergamot oil

5 drops Neroli oil

5 drops Organic Rosemary oil

How to Store Your Oils:

To store your organic lemon oil, make sure to keep it sealed and out of direct sunlight. This will stop it from degrading over time and help prolong the quality. 

Make sure you keep your lemon essential oil out of the reach of children.

Organic lemon oil can bring a citrusy and purifying lemon scent to a room and help to clear and refresh the mind. A study in 2006 shows lemon essential oil can promote relaxation and relieve stress.

A 2019 study showed that lemon essential oil is naturally antibacterial. Lemon oil was tested against common bacteria such as E. Coli and a Staphylococcus aureus.

Safety Precautions

Organic lemon oil should be diluted with a carrier oil before skin application as it can cause skin irritation and sensitivity. Our lemon oil is not suitable for consumption or any internal use and should be stored out of reach of children.
