What is an Eyelash Serum?
A lash serum is a lightweight serum that is applied to the lashes or lash line. It is used to strengthen eyelashes, help the appearance of thick eyelashes, improve overall lash health, and promote eyelash length.
Our lash serum only uses natural ingredients that are amazing at strengthening, softening and hydrating eyelashes! This 100% natural lash serum will support healthy eyelash growth, help reduce thinning eyelashes, promote fuller lashes and keep your eyelashes strong!

Why Make Your Own Lash Serum?
It’s a no-brainer! If you want to avoid chemicals and overpriced products, you need to make your own lash serum.
Commercial eyelash serums are full of unnecessary chemicals. All you need is three amazing natural oils. That's it!
We’ve seen eyelash serums being sold for over £30 for just 10ml! Some serums cost over £20 for only 3ml of product. These big brands are ripping you off!
What Ingredients Are We Using?
We have chosen all natural carrier oils that have amazing benefits for hair and eyelashes.
Castor oil is a thick, hydrating carrier oil that is popular for hair health. It naturally contains fatty acids, including ricinoleic acid, which can nourish hair follicles. Castor oil is said to help strengthen eyelashes and improve the appearance of thicker lashes.
We are also using fractionated coconut oil, which is in liquid form. It has amazing moisturising properties that hydrate lashes. It helps reduce the amount of breakage and fallout for natural lashes.
Vitamin E oil is a highly concentrated oil that can help strengthen natural lashes and prevent dryness, brittleness and improve lash health.

Ingredients
Method

1. Weigh the oils
- Weigh the castor oil, coconut oil and vitamin e oil into a bowl.
- Mix the oils together until everything has fully combined.

2. Pour into a container
- Pour the oil mixture into a small glass bottle or empty mascara tube.
- Now your lash serum is ready to apply!
TIP: Make sure to do a patch test before using the lash serum! The eye area is very sensitive, so be sure you do not have a reaction to the ingredients before applying.
If you have an adverse reaction like eye irritation, or sensitive eyes, rinse the serum off immediately.
I have tried and tested this serum and I love it! After just 2 weeks of using this natural lash serum every night, I could see noticeable results as my lashes were stronger and healthier than before!

How to Apply a Lash Serum
Using a clean mascara wand, apply a small amount of the serum to the natural lashes. Make sure to go from the base of the lashes, all the way to the tip. Alternatively, you can use a fine brush, applying it to the base of the lashes or along the lash line.
A little goes a long way with this diy eyelash serum! Try not to cover the application wand with the oils, as you may find too much goes onto your eyelashes. If you need to, wipe off the excess serum back into the bottle.
We highly recommend applying the lash serum at night! It is absorbed slowly, so your lashes and eyelids will have oil on them. If you apply it in the morning, you won’t be able to put any mascara or other eye products on.
Can I Change The Oils?
Sure, but we can’t guarantee the quality of the lash serum. We’ve carefully chosen castor oil, coconut oil and vitamin e oil as we think these are the best carrier oils for the job and we know these oils work wonders for our lashes. But if you don’t love these oils, you can substitute them for any of our other carrier oils!

Can I Add Essential Oils?
Yes you can add essential oils, but you have to be careful.
The eye area is very sensitive and essential oils are irritants if too much is added. We highly recommend using up to 1% of essential oils in this recipe. That is 0.1g of essential oil for 10ml of lash serum. I know that doesn't seem like a lot, but you should not add any more than that!
You may be wondering if you can just add a few drops like other recipes say, but this is not safe! 1 drop of essential oil never weighs the same every time, so it is not accurate enough and you may risk adding too much.
If you do not have scales that accurately weigh 0.1g, then don't try adding essential oils!
More importantly, you must check Category 3 in the IFRA document for any essential oil you want to add! Some essential oils won't even allow 1% to be added, so you need to check and follow the usage rates provided.
For example, lemongrass essential oil has a maximum usage rate of 0.1% for category 3. So you can't add more than 0.01g of lemongrass.
On the other hand, lavender essential oil has an unlimited usage rate for category 3. But that does not mean add as much as you want, that means you can add up to 1%.
