Homemade Gifts For Mum

Mother’s Day is coming up fast, and your mum deserves something extra special! This is the perfect opportunity to show her just how much she means to you.

DIY gifts don't have to be just paper flowers or a handmade mother's day card. You can make her something she will actually use and enjoy!

Make her feel appreciated with gifts that are personal and designed to help her unwind and enjoy some well-deserved me-time!

Why Make Handmade Gifts For Mother's Day?

Nothing feels more special than a gift made by hand. Many similar products in stores can be expensive and filled with unnecessary chemicals. By making your own gifts, you can keep the ingredients simple, natural, and carefully chosen.

Handmade gifts can also be customised to suit your mum’s favorite scents, colours and ingredients, making it more personalised.

Not only is it more meaningful to create gifts for your mum, it also allows your mum to enjoy a spa-like experience at home!

Mother’s Day DIY Gift Ideas

3. Nourish and Pamper the Skin

You can’t end a mother's day spa experience without nourishing the skin and restoring its natural glow!

There are two recipes we love for this! You can choose between the two or make both for the ultimate skin pamper.

Body Scrub

Our natural body scrub recipe is great for exfoliating the skin and it is really simple to make.

You can choose between a simple sugar scrub made with sugar, natural oils, and essential oils, or a whipped soap sugar scrub that gently cleanses while exfoliating.

How to Personalise a DIY Gift

How Personalise The Gifts For Your Mum

Whether you want to customise the scent or add some dried flowers, it’s easy to create something that has a personal touch.

Let’s go through how to personalise each gift idea…

Lavender Candle

This recipe can be customised with your mum's favourite scents! We have chosen lavender essential oil, but if she doesn’t like this scent you can try one of our other essential oils.

We recommend staying away from citrus essential oils (like orange, lemon, grapefruit) as they don’t work well in candles!

Always check the usage rates in Category 12 in the IFRA document before changing the essential oils.

Bath Salts

You can customise the bath salt fragrance and the specific salts! The blend for this recipe has a beautiful sweet aroma. But if you want to use your mum's favourite scent, try one of our other essential oils!

Always check the usage rates in Category 9 in the IFRA document before changing the essential oils.

You can also customise the recipe by adjusting the type of salts used. This recipe uses 200g of Epsom salt and 300g of Himalayan pink salt. However, if you’d prefer to use just one type of salt, you can simply use 500g of that single salt instead.

Another way to customise your bath salts is with dried flowers! Explore our botanical range here.

Bath Bombs

To customise your bath bombs, you can change the scent and the colour! We have chosen a simple chamomile essential oil for its calming effects. But if you want to use her favourite scent, try one of our other essential oils.

Always check the usage rates in Category 9 in the IFRA document before changing the essential oils.

You can also personalise the bath bomb with your mum’s favourite colour! Explore our range of colours here.

Our favourite way to customise a bath bomb is with dried flowers. There’s nothing better than a bath full of petals! Explore our botanical range here.

Body Scrub

For both body scrubs, you can change the essential oils or even keep them out! For sensitive skin types, we do recommend avoiding essential oils as they may irritate the skin.

Always check the usage rates in Category 5A in the IFRA document before changing the essential oils.

Body Oil

This body oil has a sweet floral aroma, but if you know your mum won’t like that, you can try some of our other essential oils or even keep them out! For sensitive skin types, we do recommend avoiding essential oils as they may irritate the skin.

Always check the usage rates in Category 5A in the IFRA document before changing the essential oils.
