Simple Eyeshadow Recipe

We are creating a simple orange eyeshadow that has a gorgeous shimmer to it. We are only using natural, lightweight and gentle ingredients for this recipe.

Arrowroot powder and bentonite clay are used to help blend the mica powders together. They are a great base to help ensure the eyeshadow applies to the eyelids well.

We are also using argan oil to compress the powders together as it is a lightweight oil. If argan oil isn't for you, you can substitute it for any of our carrier oils like jojoba oil, sweet almond oil or apricot oil.

Ingredients:

Method:

Arrowroot powder, bentonite clay and cosmetic grade mica powder

1. Weigh the powders

  • Weigh the arrowroot powder, bentonite clay and orange burst mica powder in a bowl
  • Mix the powders together until fully combined (if there are any lumps, you may need to sieve the powder)
Add argan oil to powder

2. Add the oil

  • Weigh out the argan oil
  • Add the argan oil to your powders and mix well
  • The oil will form clumps with the powder, so make sure it is evenly spread out until you can press the powder down
Finished pressed eyeshadow

3. Pour into a container

  • Once your eyeshadow is ready, add it to an empty palette or a lip balm container
  • Press the powder down until there is no loose powder on the surface
  • Now your homemade eyeshadow is ready to use!

TIP: This recipe has been tested by The Soapery Team. It creates a gorgeous shimmery eyeshadow that adds a sparkle to the eye. It can be applied as a light coloured eyeshadow or you can layer it to build the colour!
